As the days of summer soon come to an end, know that I love you more and more each day. I hope your wild and free stance in life continues to grow even wilder. And may you always feel free to voice your opinion without feeling restricted. Keep asking question after question, and never stop saying, “Why?” 

When you are “Bored like Bananas” state it. And then plop down on a pillow and gaze out of a window. You might just spot another bunny rabbit hopping around the yard or a Canadian goose eating a frog from our fish pond. And when you are constructing another Lego masterpiece or solving a puzzle, take as long as you want. Time and space is on your side son. 

Do not forget to color outside the lines and draw blue elephants. Blue elephants are the best! Keep cracking us up as you tell your “Eat Jokes.” And pretend there are spiders on our necks when you hug us! Since you love funny books the most, we shall continue to borrow humorous books from our local library. Keep leaping onto the pile of freshly cleaned clothes on the couch and then bury yourself in them. And negotiate with me for more than two chocolate chip cookies from the cookie jar because you always win anyway. 

Tell us again and again that we are your best friends and the best mommy and daddy in the whole world! And we will keep telling you that “God answered our prayers when He gave us YOU!”
